1. About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who uses the SONIQ platform, apps, desk phone services and website. They are provided by:

If your organisation buys SONIQ directly, these terms sit alongside its order and our customer agreement. If it buys through a partner, its contract is with that partner, and these terms govern your use of the platform. Our Privacy Policy, Data Processing Addendum and Acceptable Use rules (section 5) also apply. Where a signed agreement conflicts with these terms, the signed agreement prevails.
2. The services
SONIQ provides business communications: phone numbers, calling, desk phones and apps, voicemail, recording, transcription, AI summaries, contact centre, AI receptionist agents, messaging and integrations. SONIQ is for business use only. We may improve or change features; we will give at least 90 days' notice before removing a feature an organisation relies on, unless law or security requires faster action.
3. Accounts
- Your organisation's administrator creates your account and decides what you can access.
- Keep your sign-in details private, use multi-factor authentication where offered, and tell your administrator or us straight away if you suspect misuse.
- You must be authorised by your organisation to use its account, and at least 18 years old.
4. Emergency calls
You can call 999 and 112 from SONIQ services connected to the UK phone network. Emergency calls rely on power, internet connection and an accurate registered address. If any of these fail, emergency calls may not connect or may not show your location. Keep your registered site address up to date and make sure another way to call 999 is available, such as a mobile phone. Apps and AI agents do not replace emergency services.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use SONIQ to:
- break the law, including PECR, the UK GDPR and Ofcom rules on nuisance calls, silent calls and caller ID;
- make unsolicited marketing calls or messages without a lawful basis, or ignore TPS and Corporate TPS where they apply;
- display a caller ID you are not entitled to use;
- commit fraud, phishing or scams, or generate artificial traffic, including calls to premium-rate numbers to earn revenue;
- record or monitor calls without the notices and lawful basis the law requires;
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or send unlawful content;
- attempt to access accounts or data you are not authorised for, test or attack the platform's security without our written permission, or introduce malicious code;
- use AI outputs as the only basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on a person;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the platform except as your agreement allows.
We may suspend a service, on notice where practicable, if we reasonably believe it is being misused or poses a risk to the network, other customers or the public.
6. Recording, transcription and AI
- Your organisation decides whether calls are recorded, transcribed or summarised, and must tell callers where required.
- AI features, including summaries and the AI receptionist, can make mistakes. Check important details before you rely on them.
- The AI receptionist does not give medical, legal or financial advice, and it passes emergencies and callers at risk to a person.
- We do not use your organisation's call content to train AI models.
7. Phone numbers
Numbers are allocated under Ofcom's rules and do not become your property. Your organisation can port its numbers to another provider under Ofcom's rules, as long as the account is not in arrears. We may need to change a number where a regulator or carrier requires it.
8. Fees
Fees are set out in your organisation's order or by its partner. For direct customers, we invoice monthly and payment is due within the period on the invoice. We may suspend new services, after notice, if undisputed invoices remain unpaid. Call charges outside an allowance are billed at the published rates.
9. Your data
Your organisation owns its data. We process it as its processor under the Data Processing Addendum and use the sub-processors listed here. When a contract ends, your organisation can export its data for 90 days.
10. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the platform, apps, AI models and documentation. Your organisation receives a right to use them during its subscription. Your organisation keeps ownership of its own content and brand. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve SONIQ.
11. Availability and support
We work to keep SONIQ available at all times and carry out planned maintenance on voice servers outside working hours. Service levels and service credits are set out in your organisation's agreement. Support is provided by your partner where you buy through one, and otherwise by us at [email protected].
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for indirect loss. Our total liability in any year is limited as set out in your organisation's agreement, or, if there is none, to the fees paid for the services in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights of consumers, although SONIQ is not offered to consumers.
13. Ending the service
Your organisation can end its services under its agreement. We may end or suspend access for serious or repeated breach of these terms. On termination we will help with number porting and data export as described above.
14. Complaints
Please raise a complaint with your partner, or with us at [email protected]. We handle complaints under our complaints code, which follows Ofcom's General Conditions. Eligible small businesses can take an unresolved complaint to an independent alternative dispute resolution scheme after eight weeks.
15. General
We may update these terms and will give notice of material changes before they take effect. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
